The University of Bamberg sees itself as part of a dynamic knowledge society and focuses all its efforts on excellence.

The excellent research of our academics, many of whom work together in interdisciplinary and international networks, is regularly recognized. We attach particular importance to transfer, which is reflected in our far-reaching impact on the city, region and society. Researchers at the university cooperate with our two institutes, the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and the State Institute for Family Research at the University of Bamberg (ifb). We also cooperate with the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg and many other national and international partners.

Our more than 80 Bachelor’s, Master’s and teacher training courses from a wide range of subjects offer a variety of options for combining subjects. We guarantee high quality in teaching and studies through a comprehensive quality management system, which is regularly assessed externally. Currently there are around 11.000 students (17% international) and 179 Chairs.
