University of Verona (UVR)

The University of Verona was established less than 60 years ago, initially as an offspring of the University of Padova. It is a multidisciplinary, research-focused university, which comprises 13 departments and 2 university hospitals, for a student body of over 29,000, of which almost 2,000 are international. It offers 164 programmes, from bachelor to PhD, of which 9 are in English. In 2022, more than 5,000 students graduated, and on average, about 80% find a job within a year. Teaching and research staff number about 840 people, while other staff number 740. The University of Verona overall has gained the top position in its size class in the last Research Assessment (VQR).

The Department of Economics has about 50 faculty members and offers two undergraduate degrees, three MSc degrees, and a PhD in Economics and Finance. Two of its MSc degrees—International Economics & Business (IEB) and Economics & Data Analysis (EDA)—are taught entirely in English. The Department, together with 12 other departments in Italy, has recently obtained the ‘Excellence Award’ grant for its research excellence, a grant worth more than 6 million € for the period 2023-2027.
