University of Porto (UPT)

The University of Porto, established in 1911, is a premier public higher education institution in Portugal, recognised for its excellence in teaching and scientific research. With a student body of approximately 38,000 (19% international), U.Porto is supported by over 5,000 faculty and staff. The university comprises 14 faculties and a Business School, offering a multidisciplinary academic environment that spans architecture, humanities, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, health sciences, sports, and business.
Research at U.Porto is highly interdisciplinary, with 48 research units—90% of which have been rated as «Excellent» or «Very Good.» These units are engaged in advancing knowledge across fields such as biotechnology, engineering, social sciences, and environmental sustainability. Internationally, U.Porto ranks 278th in the 2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities. It is among the top 75 institutions globally for research in Food Science and Technology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and within the top 100 in Biotechnology, as per the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2024. As a key player in European and international higher education networks, U.Porto integrates one of the 17 pioneer European University Alliances approved in 2019: the EUGLOH alliance, focused on Global Health. The university has been highly successful in securing external competitive funding, particularly through the Erasmus+ programme, having participated in more than 280 Erasmus+ projects since 2014. FEP – School of Economics and Management of U.Porto
Founded in 1953, FEP is the School of Economics and Management of U.Porto. Its portfolio includes 2 Bachelor of Science programmes, 16 Academic Master of Science programmes, 5 Executive Master’s programmes, and 2 PhD programmes. FEP has the most qualified faculty in the country with a research orientation and a solid reputation in Economics, Management, and Finance. FEP has a strong corporate and alumni network, and its graduates are prepared for leading positions in national and international corporations and institutions. FEP is AACSB accredited and ranked in the Financial Times rankings (European Business Schools, Masters in Management, and Masters in Finance).
